- 2012 is the second year for Your Day Without Shoes (YDWS). In its first year, the event had participants in at least eight different countries on four continents and no less than 10 U.S. states. While exact numbers of participants are hard to come by, more than 1770 people had RSVPed on the event Facebook page that they would participate and dozens commented during and after the event about going barefoot.
- Sponsored by The Primalfoot Alliance, an organization that advocates for people who prefer to live barefoot - even in public.
- 2012 Motto: "Feel free to go barefoot."
- Purpose: Encouraging and advocating for those who'd prefer to go barefoot more often, but feel pressure not to due to perceived social norms to wear shoes.
