FAQs > General/Cultural > Won't going barefoot make my feet look unappealing or unattractive?
This is a very common misconception. Whenever feet become unattractive, it's usually because people have put them in shoes too much and taken care of them too little. Going barefoot -- especially on semi-rough surfaces like pavement -- is actually quite good at keeping skin smooth. When feet are allowed to breathe without sweating inside of shoes, they usually don't smell, dry out or crack. Likewise, conditions like fungal infections don't have the proper conditions to grow and spread when you go barefoot. Freeing your feet of restrictive dress shoes, boots and high heels also helps the toes stay better aligned which improves the foot's appearance. It's important that everyone maintain their toenails with regular trimming and grooming.
