Even though we believe going barefoot is best and encourage people to shed their shoes more often than less, there are instances where it really is more prudent to wear some kind of footwear. These include certain jobs, cold weather, neuropathy in the feet from diabetes, Raynaud's Syndrome and others. In these cases, we still encourage people to wear primal footwear that allows feet to remain flexible and strong.

Remember that shoes are tools. If they are needed for a specific purpose, then it's appropriate to use them. Just as people sometimes wear gloves (oven mitts, for example), it makes sense to sometimes wear shoes. But if they are no longer truly necessary then the tools should no longer be used. After all, wouldn't it be strange to walk around wearing oven mitts on your hands all day?
